Is my phone compatible?

An eSIM only installs on a compatible, unlocked device. Check before you buy.

The check that settles it

Dial *#06# on your phone keypad. If a 32-digit EID number appears, your device supports eSIM.

iPhone :
Settings › General › About, then look for the “EID” line.
Android :
Settings › About phone › SIM status, look for “EID”.

Two conditions, not one

Your device must support eSIM and be unlocked, meaning not tied to a single carrier. A phone bought with a subsidised plan sometimes is for the first few months: if in doubt, ask your carrier to unlock it — it is free and unconditional after that period.

Full list of known devices

This list is indicative. Compatibility also depends on the regional variant of the device: the same model may support eSIM in Europe and lack it elsewhere. If in doubt, the EID check above overrides this table.

iPhones sold in mainland China and Hong Kong have no eSIM. Conversely, iPhone 14 and later bought in the United States have no SIM tray at all.

These ranges are the most inconsistent: from one region to another, the same commercial name may mean a device with or without eSIM. Check the EID before buying.
